As a seasoned business development professional with over 30 years of experience focused on the technology marketplace, Bill is uniquely qualified to help manage Veterans First Medical Supply’s growth within the Veterans Administration.
Bill managed several small to mid-sized private and public companies that focused on deploying technology solutions to consumer supply chain customers. Valuable experience was gained from direct involvement of deploying new hardware and software platforms during an era of explosive growth within the technology industry from the late 1970’s through 2010.
Bill joined a company in 2011 that provides durable medical equipment (DME) to patients as prescribed by physicians in hospitals, wound care centers, and medical clinics having direct sales and marketing responsibility for most of South East Texas. This business model requires direct contact with physicians, clinical staff and the patients at their homes in order to set-up the equipment and provide training on the proper use of the prescribed equipment, per doctor’s specific orders.
All of the Veterans Administration hospitals and clinics in South East Texas were also call points in the territory. Familiarity with the VA facilities, doctors, clinicians and serving hundreds of Veterans in their homes was the major focus of Bill’s responsibility.
Jody Allen and Bill Gibbs worked together at the same DME company since 2011 with increasing focus on serving the needs of the Veterans Administration and their patients.
In January 2017, Jody Allen, a former U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Paratrooper, and Service Disabled (60%), decided to form his own company, Veterans First Medical Supply, LLC, in order to take advantage of a special VA Program for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). At about this time Jody Allen offered Bill Gibbs the position of Business Manager and Consultant, which he happily accepted and is proud to be serving the Veterans Administration and their patients exclusively. Bill has always had a soft spot for the Veterans since his father was KIA during the Korean War and considers serving VA patients an honor and a way of giving back a little to the veterans who have proudly served this country.
